Best combination puncher: Napoles, Arguello, Gomez, McCallum, Norris, Chavez, Holyfield, or Trinidad

Napoles is 2 tiers above. He's genuinely got a case for best combination puncher ever, and is probably the most fluid out of all of them.

 

Yeah, agreed with Ioakeim. Napoles is #1 here.

I think I'd have Holyfield next. He wasn't as fluid as McCallum, but the way he'd blast punches over and over again is just great and his land percentage must be pretty high. I can remember many more Holyfield combinations than I can McCallum combos.

 

The two most aesthetically pleasing sights in boxing, by my eye:

1. Locche evading punches, feet planted, hands by his side or even behind his back, by doing nothing other than moving his head mere inches; and

2. Napoles, beautifully balanced, throwing fluid combinations as if they were part of some kind of wonderfully choreographed mating ritual.

I think they're all S tier. But I think Napoles chains his shots better than Marquez and Gonzalez, better than Louis too imo. Probably not better than Robinson though. Closes the distance more quickly than them as well.

He's closest to Robinson in terms of his approach, I think. Not quite as nasty or vicious, but his shot selection is very similar. Especially that double and triple left hook. I think he even did that double/triple hook while crouching down at one point in the 1st Cokes fight. I don't recall anyone else doing that. His jab-left hook might also be the best ever aside from maybe like, Miguel Canto's.

 

Napoles by a large margin, the McCallum by a large margin over Holyfield.
If I was able to talk to Cuyo Hernandez I would ask him about the influence Napoles had on his view of boxing.

 

Based solely on combination punching, it's still Napoles, imo.
