Best come back in a fight?

If you've never seen it I highly recommend the second Bobby Chacon Cornelious Boza Edwards fight. They were screaming about stopping it in the 6th round, Chacon was getting pummeled and Chacon came back and dropped him again in the 12th. Crazy fight

 

Wilder vs Dustin Nichols....

 

Not at all. Apart from the 1st and 8th rd knockdowns, Benn was winning most of the other rounds.

Coming back from the kd's was superb though.

 

Actually, the first one that came to mind ... Tate had it won going away after fourteen rounds, just move for three more minutes and on to a big money payday, possibly with comebacking Ali (and this was part of a FOUR-HOUR prime time ABC boxing event - remember those? I actually took the night off from work to watch it). When that out-of-nowhere Weaver hook connected, Tate toppled; and his days of contention came to a sudden and sad ending.

 

Matthew Saad Muhammad -Yaqui Lopez II (Saad was behind on pts after 8 rounds and pummeled with 10-15 unanswered shots at one juncture with his back to the ropes in the 8th round. He survived and worked his way back in to the fight, eventually dropping Lopez four times in the 14th round to force the stoppage.)

Matthew Saad Muhammad - Marvin Johnson I (Saad was behind on pts in this war entering the 12th and final round. He had to get the KO in the 12th round and he did so - laying out Johnson with a fusilad of blows with less than one minute left in the final round.)

Matthew Saad Muhammad - Marvin Johnson II (Johnson started very fast and was well ahead after 6 rounds. At the end of the 7th, Saad landed a thunderous right hand that hurt Johnson, but the bell rang before he could finish him. With terrible cuts above both eyes - caused by Johnson punches - that spilled blood a few seconds after the beginning of the 8th round and could result in an imminent stoppage loss, Saad tore after Johnson like a cougar, ignoring some big shots in the process, and pummeled Johnson until he was reduced to a useless heap prostrate on the canvas.)

Matthew Saad Muhammad-Conteh I (Saad was outboxed most of the way by the still tricky Conteh. Sensing he was behind, he attacked Conteh relentlessly in the 14 th round, dropping him twice. He then easily won the 15th. Still, it was a controversial win as Conteh seemed well ahead after 12 rounds).

The dude was like a real life Rocky.

These fights look like they could have been scripted in Hollywood. Combine this with his unique personal story - he rose from being abandoned as a child to being the best LHW in the World - and one has to wonder why a movie about his life was never made. No disrespect to Ward or Pazienza, but Saad's story was much more compelling.

 

That was the fight that got me hooked on boxing. Chacon was pummeled throughout the middle of the fight and his face was a mask of blood. How they allowed him to go on is still a mystery to me. I have seen countless fights stopped when a guy is behind and bleeding that badly.)

Kudos to Bobby for somehow dropping Boza late.

I still thought Boza deserved the decision and Chacon really shouldn't have been allowed to fight past the 8th or 9th round.

 

One of my favourite fights of all time. Tough man vs savvy slickster. Great clash of styles. The skill-set of Linares was just incredible. Manny Stewart - Jim i don't always say this but Jorge is one of the most fantastic boxers i have ever seen in my life. 8:00
