What shape and weight would you consider to be the best for the trilogy match?

Fury vs Wilder 1: Fury stepped on the scale first and weighed in at 256½ pounds, his lightest since his comeback following his lay off. Wilder was next to step on and came in at 212½ pounds, his lowest since his debut in 2008 when he weighed 207¼ pounds.

Fury vs Wilder 2: Fury weighed in at 273 pounds, the third heaviest weight of his professional career and 17 pounds heavier than his weight for the first Wilder bout. He stated in the lead-up to the fight that he wanted extra size and power to look for a knockout. Wilder weighed in at 231 pounds, the heaviest of his career.

Fury vs Wilder 3: Fury has stated that he wants to enter the ring at approximately 300 lbs while Wilder has remained silent, but Malik Scott was quoted "I would just like to see him in dog shape,”
“When [Wilder] was 209 [pounds] he knocked Tyson Fury [down] and then Tyson Fury got up,” Scott said. “When he was 230 [pounds], we took the loss to Tyson Fury [in the rematch] and we were dealing with issues in the fight.” “It’s just no telling.”

My opinion: Fury may be foolish if he actually enters the ring that heavy. He looked incredibly strong and hulking in the rematch while retaining enough flexibility, speed, and dexterity to maneuver the ring and avoid the cannon blasts of Wilder while also bullying and laying the weight down upon him during clinches. Wilder entered possibly too heavy and seemed to lack some of the explosiveness of past matches. If I were Wilder, I would focus on maintaining the speed and explosiveness of his lighter weights and try to penetrate the defense of Fury as soon as possible.

    What do you think?

I think 300 pounds for Fury is excessive and obese. I don't believe entering a ring to defend your title when you're obese is a good plan.

As for Wilder, I agree that he should be looking for more speed, whatever weight is best for him to accomplish that without losing strength.

Fury about 280. Wants to use his mass to lean on and wear down Wilder as in the 2nd fight.

Wilder 220. Lighter to regain speed and explosiveness, but not too light as weight is needed to put behind his punches if he wishes to ko Fury. 210 in the first fight was a bit light to do the job as Fury kept getting up. Would a bit more weight resulted in a ko?

Maybe im just the minority but Fury shouldn't loose or gain mass for this next fight. Same weight. Wilder should look to loose weight and be at about 220. Doesn't matter in the end though.

I reckon the 300lb weight Fury mentioned was just to get into Wilders head via Malik. No way Fury comes in too much heavier than fight two. 280 would be most.

Wilder can come in at any weight he wants, he will still struggle to land that right if Fury is switched on. But he cant even carry himself and a 40lb vest for more than 30mins when he weighed 230, so hes best leaving the vest at home and coming in somehwere near his usual weight, 220 is about right to keep some explosivness, not that he will land it.

I think Fury should burn off some of that flab.
He clearly carries around a little excess weight. But his goal should not be any certain weight.
He is a big dude and having a low body fat % is actually not a good thing. Anything under 10% will hinder your quality of life. And it´s hard to maintain. So I imagine that someone as big as Fury will need more than just 10% to feel perfectly healthy.

    270+ seems excessive tho.

Under 10% BF is good & natural-for a small % of people. And some competitive athletes like many runners-at least in season.
Fury below 10% that is a real lol!
Was he ever below 20% on his professional career?
I imagine that early-mid 20's would be both realistic for his body type-in part likely all the substances messed up his metabolism-& with his skill set he can carry more weight than most HWs effectively & use it well-like an Old Foreman.

Can you say something about your professional experience badbot?

    ?
I think you did not understand what I wrote. I did not say that Fury should be 10% body fat.

I would agree. I think that so much of the weaponry Fury wields is based in psychological warfare. Maybe Malik bites and begins training Wilder differently to adapt to a weight which Fury has no intention of.

Here's another question. Seeing him at the press conference, training pics and vids, does he look anywhere near the hulking frame he was for the 2nd match to any of you folks? It seems like the fight is too fast approaching to really get to that shape. At least in my mind.

Fury is joking about 300 pounds

Fury at full fitness is a 270 pound man. He could cut down to mid 250's when he was younger and spent a lot of his camps merely losing weight. Now that he is 30 years old if he steps on the scales below 265 it's because he's been drained in camp. Wallin camp his weight accidently dipped below 260 which had them concerned.

Fury was at his leanest and naturally skinniest when he fought Cunningham. 254 pounds as a 24 year old.

Wilder's best weight is around 220 ish.

Right, I agree with this. Wilder primarily has to rely on getting the explosive to it's target in the quickest manner possible. There's no other way for him IMO. He doesn't stand a chance in hell of outboxing Fury. I think back to Breazeale and other destructive KOs and that alone is his chance IMO.

Question: Does anyone consider Fury to be currently looking anywhere near the shape that he was in for the 2nd match?

His strength and conditioning looks like it's a few weeks behind from the 2nd camp, however he was peaking a few weeks early for the 2nd Wilder bout anyway.

Depending on various factors he will be between 265-273 again. If he is below 265 then that crazy Vegas heat has been forcing him to cut unintentionally.

Really it's how you feel and perform on the night that matters anyway which is almost impossible to control. Fury can control his emotions though unlike Wilder which is a big factor.

I agree. He does look to he slightly behind. Would you consider Wilder to be looking ahead of their last match?
