Best contender that Lennox Lewis didnt fight.

    Same deal as with the Louis thread. I am not asking you to make any moral judgment on whether he should have fought these potential challengers. Just consider:

    A. Who was the most talentede regardless of the strength of his claim to fight Lewis.

    B. Who had the strongest claim based on circumstances and resume.

    Take into acount only the period when Lewis was the lineal champion eg post Briggs or post Holyfield.

    Bit of both, Byrd's resume wasn't bad at all, better than say Ruiz, and he definately was the most talented. W. Klitschko lost to Sanders; if he didn't, he would be the answer no question.

    I take it the question in A refers to Lewis and not Holmes.

    I'm going to say Wlad was the most talented.

    Best claim would either by Byrd or Ruiz.

    Byrd probably fits both of those categories I guess but I would've loved Lennox to fight Ike Ibeabuchi before he raped that woman

    Not blaming Lewis for it but these were the few challengers that he never got to fight.

    So I guess Bowe isn't counted? Champ rather than contender?

    Most talented either Ibeabuchi or Wlad.

    Strongest claim was Byrd.
    Ruiz would never have had the title shot without King and without Akinwande being sick, simple as that.

    Strongest Claim: Ibeaubuchi (no its not Byrd who he starched in 5) or Wlad or Ruiz

    You might consider Bowe but I dont think that he posed a verry strong claim while Lewis was actualy lineal champion.

    Wladimir had beaten Byrd though and was the number 1 contender in the world (Lewis being the champ) before being knocked out by Sanders.
