He's a decent counter puncher, which is what OP asked. Sure he's pretty much done now, but his older fight are good example of counter punching.
Damnit, guy. How many times do I have to say Bernard Hopkins before you start watching him? Bernard Hopkins. Period.
They're different type of counter punches imo. Toney almost exclusively rolled into his counters. Floyd rolls into a lot of short counter rights and check and non check left hooks. His most effective counter comes from pulling--whether it be the classic pull counter or the parry/pull right hand into a left hook (see Corrales fight). Randall Bailey was a nasty CP back in his day http://i.imgur.com/EppjyCg.gif More check hook goodness http://i.imgur.com/7KNKOU1.gif http://i.imgur.com/YfAeXYd.gif take your finger or make an imaginary dot and put it on the point in space where danny's head is when erik's left hook is starting. erik's left hook is going to go that point in space as danny's head is going to move away from it by using his upper body to create seperation. inspired by my breh yuzo
