Holyfield-Qawi I and Murphy-Muttti are obvious ones. I have my own opinions about the top 80s ones, what does everyone else think?
Yes, I know. I've been preaching that one all over the place. You really are a Leon/ cruiserweight fan, aren't you?
DeLeon v. Spinks. Spinks was much bigger framed and tried to outmuscle Carlos but Deleons superior defense and handspeed totally neutralized him. Prime Deleon is underrated.
I was at Holyfield-Qawi I, great seat next to where some of the judges of the other fights were sitting (they’d go to the edge of the ring to judge a fight and rotate back to these seats next to me). You can have all the other cruiserweight fights of the 1980s and I’ll take this one and be happy with it.
Yes it was by far the best as it had action and quality. Evander, Dwight and then DeLeon and Ocasio the top 4 CWs of the 80s.
A little surprised. I heard De Leon vs. Nelson was boring. Qawi vs. Ocasio? that's a good fight? I've never seen it, but Ocasio just doesn't seem like the type to get caught up in a pier-six. Those last two seem like good ones, though.
Ric Enis against Craig Bodzianowski was an exciting fight with both men down and a classic ending. There has to be a Marvin Camel fight in there somewhere, doesn't there?
