Toney would beat anyone but Holy at Cruiser, and like you said, that fight would be close. Jirov was a beast at 190, the fight that should've happened but never did was Jirov/Gomez around 1999 or 2000. Those guys were both killers in their prime but promotional issues meant they never got together.
I'll disagree. Nelson would surely have danced his way to a decision loss or been ko'd. Haye's aggression and strength would have Nelson backpedaling and not punching. It's interesting that Nelson and Hide are now calling out Haye. Makes sense from Johnny's perspective. Even at age 42, Nelson could come back, patty-cake his way to a wide loss and collect a couple million for the trouble. If he looks terrible (and he would), oh well, money's in the bank. Nelson and Hide saw all those asses in the seats at a Cruiserweight fight.
The fabulous Holyfield is the finest to have graced the cruisers, but the more respectful names at that weight i recall were Carlos Deleon, Rickey Parkey, Marvin Camel, Leeroy Murphy, Johnny Nelson, Orlin Norris, Alfonso Ratliff, Imamu Mayfield.. David Haye is good as most of the more recent champs but is not yet established .. I have no doubt about his power and potential but it has yet to be seen.. James Pritchard was ok too as was Arthur Williams in his prime..James Waring too.. God bless...
Those were the big names, but none of those guys save DeLeon and Nelson, belong on a top 10 all-time list. Imamu Mayfield might be one of the weakest champions ever in any division.
