Mayweather ... never been knocked down or counted out -- Never had so much as a bloody lip during a fight ... never swollen ... never cut ... always out lands his opponents and no fighter has landed over 30% against him.
Are you on crack, Hopkins well Joe Calzaghe had no trouble punching him in the face more than any man alive. His record is full of not memorable people really come on see the truth. Not deserving of a place in anybodys top ten or whatever
Willy Pep - once won a round without getting hit or hitting his foe. And as a Dane, I must mention 60és great Danish lightweight Borge Krogh. He lost a handful of titlefights on cuts - but when the blood did not flow, he was the best defensive boxer I´ve seen live. Clever man, who went on to teach Mathematics on High-School level !
agreed, very good point. Whitaker was clearly better defensively than pbf. The opponent has something to say about it. I do not know how PBF would have done against then likes Azumah Nelson, Pendleton Chavez...
Those who make such claims are the ones going by reputation rather than their own eyes, provided they've even seen enough of Whitaker in the first place to make the call.
I'd go with Pernell. More effective defense was Pernell, but PBF was a little more skilled. PBF's defense inside was great & Pernell neevr even allowed a guy to get inside that much. But Pernell has embarrassed guys so bad, he's made me roll over and laugh. Pernell's reflexes were so excellent.
