Which division is the best in boxing at the moment? I'm gonna plug for Super Bantamweight: 1 - Israel Vasquez (elite) 2 - Rafael Marquez (elite) 3 - Celestino Caballero (world class) 4 - Juan Manuel Lopez (world class and future elite:think) 5 - Jhonny Gonzalez (world class) 6 - Toshiaki Nishioka 7 - Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym 8 - Daniel Ponce De Leon 9 - Ricardo Cordoba (world class) 10 - Steve Molitor Other names we will recognise: Bernard Dunne, Rendal Munroe and Kiko Martinez. What I love about this division is that all the top guys are fighting each other: Vasquez has won two out of three against Marquez. Caballero has beaten both Ponce De Leon and Molitor. Corduba has beaten Caballero (albeit at a lower weight). Vasquez has beaten Gonzalez. Lopez has beaten Ponce De Leon. In this division the top two guys are ranked 5th and 7th respectively P-4-P according to Ring magazine, while Caballero and Lopez can't be far off that particular top 10 list. So, SBW is the best at the moment IMO, with Lightweight and Welterweight coming in behind. Agree or Disagree?
I suppose he could stop off at Bantam for a fight with Montiel (who has moved up), but apart from that there really isn't another marque name that would attract him in that division. I wonder how he would fair at SBW? Some tough guys to deal with up there.
I like the Welterweight Division, Lightweight Division, Super Bantamweight Division and Super Middleweight Division.
How about the best division for Brits? light welter? Hatton, Witter, Rees and - arguably, since he wants to face Hatton at some point - Khan. Maybe lightweight.
