For years since the days of Liddel and Silva, the 205 division was considered the best in MMA in terms of strength in depth and quality fights. It was the flagship division for a number of years, but I think it's either in decline, or others have simply caught up Is this still the case, if not which do you think deserves the mantle of best division in MMA And a few sentences as to why would be nice too Personally I think the 155ers are currently top of the heap Do the dominance of GSP and Anderson hurt their respective divisions?
LHW is a fair shout still. Any of the current 10 could potentially be a champion in the UFC if Jon Jones proves to be anything other than absolutely dominate.
I think that 205 is still stacked, but I agree that 155 has caught up. Until Penn left to go to 170, I had 3 lightweights in my p4p top ten.
I suspect the reigns of Aldo, Anderson, and GSP renders their divisions as uncompetitive compared to the rest LW, which I think doesn't really have a consensus no 1 since BJ moved up. But does that mean the talent pool at 145,170 & 185 is poor on the whole? Or are the aforementioned guys just the best of a bad bunch? Of course, Im not saying they are bad fighters. Just playing devils advocate, for the sake of discussion
Make the case for it if you have time fellaa, LW is cleaning up atm and be interesting to hear a different perspective
