Has there ever been a better time for british boxing then right now?

After london 2012 british boxing has been booming!

    David haye v tyson fury
    carl froch v george groves

the lightweight and middleweight divivsion is very exciting

we have so many boxers either with world titles or on the verge of world class froch, khan, mcdonell, burns, quigg, frampton, fury, haye, bellew, cleverly, brook, martin murray, barker, degale, bj saunders, lee selby

and then the prospect such as yafai, campbell, mj ward, joshua, dickens, galahad, callum smith i could go on for ever

british boxing has a great future

Late 80s/ early 90s Bruno, benn,Watson, eubank, herol graham etc

  3. I can't speak for quality of past eras but this is a strong and deep coection of fighters in the British isles
As far as titles go its so hard to judge because of the amount of belts on offer
You have to ask yourself if the original 8 divisions excited with one belt, how many champions would we have or for that matter if every division today had one belt how many champions would we have.and the answer is none

So for me British boxings on a high producing a stack of talented contenders and good shows but we as usual are lacking when producing elite boxers and that's where I want to see progression now

    Imagine if golovkin was English

Those where the times for the Brits, certainly the MW's where booming!
Don't forget Pyatt in the mix, not as high profile as the big 4, but the guy had a destructive left hook.

People always like to think negative and like to remember 'the good old days' but i think this current era and the near future will prove to be as good as any for british boxing.

So many quality fighters out there and the strength in depth in each weight creates some brilliant domestic match ups

It is in very good shape definately ....

I suppose I ask myself is Froch v Groves better then Eubank v Benn ...
Is Fury v Haye better then Bruno v Lewis

Its a hard one to call but I would have to say 80's / 90's

Hard one to call, seriously? :blood
Froch would fit right between Eubank and Benn though.

SUPPOSE THE WAY PROMOTERS WORK NOWADAYS MAKES IT HARDER TO MAKE THESE FIGHTS, I MEAN imagine martin murray, macklin and barker mix it up even bj saunders and john ryder or eubank jnr,

we could have had a frampton quigg and galahad trio

    degale froch groves

but hats off to hearn and hennasy they arnt just looking to protect their fighters '0' they are taking some risks
