Friends of the British forum..... What would you say were the most memorable corner moments in history. This one was amusing. [YT]yT9PQ2gOrnQ[/YT] Micky Duff and Father John motivating Mugabi to try and accomplish the impossible :good Norman Stone antics..... Eddie Futch pulling out Frazier.... which are your fave moments?
TBH, Jeff, the HBO Spanish translator is absolute gold, IMO. He's so dramatic it's unreal. Examples: 'Get out there and hit this son of a gun!' 'Let me, let me put some water on your balls'. 'If he hits you in the balls- HIT HIM BACK IN THE BALLS'.:rofl
Emanuel Steward beating Lewis on the chest during the Tyson fight. Calzaghe 'he ain't ****' vs Lacy. Loads that I can't recall.... will have a think.
Arce between rounds vs Rosendo Alvarez said to the camera 'Don't worry,we're just having fun out here.I'll knock him out now, don't worry about a thing' Just amused me that Ray Torres was translating what Arce was saying and not the cornermen
I remember Margarito's trainer telling him to throw more punches during various rounds in the Cintron and Cotto fights..... then on one occasion the stats came up that he had thrown 137 or something, most of which landed. It was probably Cintron....
The Mugabi-Hagler one is one of my favourites Beeston mentioned Lennox-Tyson. "Get that mother ****er out of there!!!" Manny was hyped that night.
I don't like watching Lewis vs Tyson at all. It's weird when you think that Lewis was only 5/8 on to win, when you think that Tyson hadn't fought a decent opponent in five years, and when he did he was embarrassed twice, and all Lewis had against him was the shock defeat to Rahman which was subsequently avenged. Really when analysing the fight, Lewis should have ended it a lot earlier, but Tyson still kept taking it despite being powerless to do anything about it. Some idiot in Ring Magazine claimed it was Lewis's best win - the article was posted on the Classic forum a few weeks ago..... the writer ought to have been sacked!
Angelo Dundee with the legendary words "your blowing it now son! your blowing it!" to Leonard in the 1st Heanrs fight.
