Prime sugar ray (since the people who saw it, because there is no filmed footage) was in welter, not in middleweight. So you cant beat a prime sugar ray if you beat him in middleweight.
Kazakhstan (Kazakh: Қазақстан, romanized: Qazaqstan, IPA: [qɑzɑqˈstɑn] ( This content is protected listen)), officially the Republic of Kazakhstan(Kazakh: Қазақстан Республикасы, romanized: Qazaqstan Respýblıkasy; Russian: Республика Казахстан, tr. Respublika Kazakhstan),[4][13] is the world's largest landlocked country, and the ninth largest in the world, with an area of 2,724,900 square kilometres (1,052,100 sq mi).[4][14] It is a transcontinental country largely located in Asia; the most western parts are in Europe. Kazakhstan is the dominant nation of Central Asia economically, generating 60% of the region's GDP, primarily through its oil and gas industry. It also has vast mineral resources.[15]
I'm pretty sure the only reason Sugar Ray Robinson lost this fight to Turpin was because he and his entourage treated the whole European tour as a massive holiday; he was living the good life and probably only did a cursory amount of training for the entire duration of his European tour. In my opinion, the last fight of Robinson's prime was when he was stopped by a combination of the sun and the ringside heat in the fight with Maxim for the Light Heavyweight title, and retired to have a go at a dancing career.
There is footage of Robinson at Welterweight (not very much, admittedly); but there are certainly bits and pieces out there. Here is some highlights footage of Sugar Ray Robinson fighting Tony Riccio in 1946: This content is protected You're welcome.
There's little to none. I've watched tons of footage of srr, and I have found some footage of welter. But there is practically nothing. I (nor anyone here) havent watched SRR fighting in welter enough to be able to make the difference. If people at the time said that he was prime at welter, I dont have any reason not to believe them. It's not my opinion, it's other people's opinion, the people who watched him's opinion.
What makes you say that? It’s reasonable to ask isn’t it? I could see it if it was which country had the best middleweight, and the responses aren’t bad. I just don’t understand
Cerdan looked better v Zale on youtube than Bob did v Corbet on youtube despite Bob fighting that bout at heavy, Cerdan had better fundamentals, he beat Zale and brawled with LaMotta with one arm during their clash, Bob never met that kind of competition at middle.
