Vicente Saldivar wasn't your ideal pure boxer, I guess, as a lot of his success came from applying pressure which grew round after round after round - but he was still pretty technical himself when he wanted / needed to be. I always think the second fight against Howard Winstone (the one he won on points in Cardiff) is one of the most staggeringly good fights in terms of skills ever caught on film. Amazing how their styles complimented each other and it's a virtuoso boxing performance from both. Also, the first Whitaker-McGirt fight, as well as the first Toney-McCallum one (the one which was scored a draw). Now THAT is boxing.
Duran, Leonard in the Montreal fight both guys were in their physical prime, and put on a 15 round masterpiece, what more could you ask for. Also Pryor Arguello 1 comes to mind..
Pryor yea he was just an animal.. Duran was a very under-rated boxer, just as good a boxer as Leonard, even Marvin Hagler said Duran was the best boxer he ever faced, and THAT'S SAYING A LOT....:yep
