I love to see great fighters slipping punches in the ring, was watching Willie Pep yesterday and the guy had some fantastic moves to slip punches.

Got me thinking, who was best at it???

Pernell Whitaker and Nicolino Locche did it the most artistically, comedically and nonchalantly.

Wilfred Benitez and Miguel Canto did it the most simply and subtly.

Floyd Mayweather does it the most herky jerkily, but effectively nonetheless.

Wilfred Benitez leaps out, and Roy Jones Junior was unbelievable as well. Whitaker slipped brilliantly as well as blocking and as far as aggressive fighters Duran for a long time and Tyson for a short one did quite well.

Napoles was no slouch at slipping either.

Not sure i would say there is a clear best ever.

Just a number of fighters in the upper-echelons and not all of them great fighters either.

Dempsey, Duran, Mayweather and Roy Jones are the guys who leap to mind.

Dempsey is certainly the best in terms of style, for me.

willie pep and pernell whitaker. pep was better than whitaker though because he was a much better puncher/combination puncher than whitaker. of course when you take into resumes and longevitity(19 years fighting after plane crash)......pep easily takes the cake.

pep was special, i have him as my # 1 p4p fighter of all time
