In theory, yes; but each professional has also had time to develop his strengths, realize what they are, and adapt it to a professional system where things like aggression and punching power are what are rewarded on the scoring system. Although yeah, some of these pros have had excellent technical form and are great to watch. I would just warn anyone who's a competing amateur against getting too carried away emulating someone they may not have the same natural gifts as.

I already posted in another thread of yours a few minutes ago

I wouldn't recommend watching boxers like Gamboa or Rigondeaux, their style works for them only

    pro fighters

Hopkins, Dzindziruk ,Kotelnik, Molitor, Khan (with Roach),

    amateur

    Kostya (not his pro game)

gamboa and rigondeux are very unorthodox who make alot of mistakes, the only reason they get away with it is because of their super athleticism.

it would be like trying to study prince naseem or roy jones jr.

The Cubans who don't think they're Gods are probably good to watch. Yordenis Ugas, Erislandy Lara, etc.

    *Kostya Tszyu as an amateur
*Yuri Arbachakov - amazing example of a boxer-puncher
*Evgeniy Makarenko if you're a tall lanky guy. perfect guy to learn the tag and move amateur style

My third round looked a lot like what I wanted. Unfortunately before I was able to do that, I gave away round one and two :!:

Oscar De La Hoya in the 1992 Olympics was brilliant.

Mike Tyson's amatuer fights are well worth a look if you are short and stocky.

The mix of head movement and aggression can add to anyone's game.

  14. Depends what you're looking for. The mental game is differant from the finer technical aspects.

Guillermo Rigondeaux has excellent schooled technique but you wouldn't try and fight an opponant the way he does. You look at David Haye Amateur and can say he might lack top pedigree schooled style but his x factor and warrior mentality had him almost beat incredible amateur Odlanier Solis.

Oscar and Kostya are good shouts.

Watch Vernon Forrest as an amateur, he had all the fundamentals locked down, perfect jab, perfect 1,2 & perfect foot work

he did get schooled though by Kostya, who was a great ring general
