yeah I remeber hearing that very specifically in the mid 70's when Holmes was sparring with Ali in training camp. But Ali would jab you above the eye and cut you open like a knife. They said he cutup Wepner with his jab one night so bad that they had to sew up Wepner and get him to the hospital immediatley after the decison was announced.

Also let's not forget Cus D'Amatos peek-a-boo style that was a lil less jab reliant just a bit because with that style the other guy was also subject to a few more combo's. But than again everyone who fought that style like Patterson or Tyson or even Abraham all had great jabs. Well Arthur has a Great Jab for a midget!

Marvin Hagler against Tony Sibson was a beautiful display of jabbing. Hagler would be moving laterally and then just jump in with a powerful jab, double jab, jab to open up combos, etc...Definitely worth seeing. Mustafa Hamsho 1 was another jabbing clinic from Hagler.

Ike Quartey jabbed the **** out of Jose Luis Lopez. Bazooka Jab, Bazooka Jab, repeatedly.

Oscar De La Hoya jabbed the hell out of Miguel Angel Gonzalez. I think there was one portion in the fourth round where he hit him with 4 straight hard jabs.

Hagler vs sibson is a great text book example of how to use your jab properly. Great example bout. Sibson had a lot of game you just couldn't see it that night!

Ali, holmes, robinson. Used the jab as there primary weapon. To me ali had the best jab. Watching the clevland fight where he knocks him down going backwards was amazing. The clips I saw of robinson, showed an ali jab. Mayweather jab is ok. Not enuff to discuss in this thread

    True.

Ali had one of the best.

    Holmes too.

Currently, Wlad's is the most effective.
