I think Most rate Sanchez on what he actually accomplished.

Young Griffo would have beat them all and still made it to the pub before closing time.

Salvador sanchez beat lopez, gomez and nelson(although he was somewhat green), IMO that compares to the top opponents that pep and saddler fought. I dont think willie pep should be considered the general consensus #1 featherweight of all times, there are so many fighters from different eras that would give him a rough fight and also have similar resumes.

If that were the case, he may just sneak a top ten place, if you were being kind.

Yeah and Pedroza never beat anybody who was great like Sanchez did. Olivares was past his prime when fought him.

Pedroza was World Class for seven years; Sanchez for just two. Salvador was phenomenon, but also a phenomenon that grew because of an early death.

None of those fighter's except for Olivares are any where near an All Time Great. Pedroza was a very good fighter but he was dirty and he may have lost to Juan Laporte.

It is not a negative to be dirty if you can get away with it, and Pedroza was brilliant at that.

Pedroza unlike Sanchez had a full career thus he was going to have some poor performances in there. But so did Sanchez, he almost blew the Pat Cowdell fight and was slaughtered by the press (until the accident) for the poor performance and struggle with the novice Nelson.

Well the press got it wrong and if Pedroza was the champ for so long why didn't he fight Gomez or especially Lopez. You wanna know why cause they were big bombers and he had been KO'ed three times. And like I said LaPorte might have beaten Pedroza so enough with the Cowdell **** atleast there's no controversey about that fight. Nelson was an ATG, Laporte just a good fighter, you have no arguement. Sanchez knew when to turn it on, he was special, Pedroza was not. I really don't see how you can defend Pedroza's resume and blast Sanchez, it makes no sense. He never beat anybody that great, get over it.

Nelson and Gomez are definitely two better wins than anything on Pedroza's resume. Then when you consider that Pedroza arguably lost to Lockridge twice, Laporte and Bernard Taylor, it's simply not up to the standard which Sanchez set. There's no controversial victory on Sanchez's ledger. Does anyone really argue that Cowdell or Ford beat him? Close but clear decisions in both cases imo.

As for struggling with a green Nelson, I'd take that Nelson to better Pedroza for a good 10 of the 15 rounds the bout would go IF Pedroza's chin didn't cave in beforehand.

Nelson was an atg but not the 14fight version that Sanchez fought ,and Gomez was coming up in weight ,some are successful at the extra poundage ,some are not Zarate a great bantam proved this when Gomez blew him Sanchez was a great fighter but to say he would have easily beat Pedroza is silly ,you say why didnt Pedroza fight Sanchez/ Well why didnt Sanchez fight Pedroza? Pedroza at least took his title on the road, and to put his abilities down because he was a dirty fighter is also nonsensical,so was Greb ,Zivic,Armstrong,Saddler, are they no good?Pedroza hit Laporte low several times,Foreman hit Roman while he was down Marciano clubbed Cockell whilst he was on the floor ,hit him low and butted him.this is a fight not a knitting contest a guy stamped on my foot once and broke two of my toes ,then he hit me low ,it aint womens hour in there!
