I dont know about you but I love a good underdog story. People overcoming the odds in the ring is amazing to watch and is inspiring at the same time. Some of the upsets that i loved from most recent memory: Maussa - Vivian Harris Baldomir - Judah Brian Vera - Andy Lee Brewster - Lyakhovich Khan - Prescott Who could forget the great Carloss Maussa [yt]YxyWyKN0944[/yt]
Hopkins-Hakkar. I thought even then Hops was on the slide because of his age and he silenced the critics by dominating a much younger man.
Donaire making vic darchinyan do the chicken walk Campbell beating Juan Diaz in mexico Pacquaio shocking the world by dominating delahoya
both of these were great...especially Hopkins...I was smiling the whole time watching this fight, it was great
Hopkins wasn't that much of a dog anyway in truth - I would have put my house on him to beat Pavlik. Though not as convincing as he did!
Rocky Juarez against Jorge Barrios. Juarez was clearly behind and managed to pull out a late comeback win in front of his home crowd who were all cheering "Rocky Rocky". It was indeed fun moment to have witnesses. (on tv)
The sports books generally have it right, and Hop was as much as +380 to win. The real question among legit bettors I spoke to was can Pavlik KO him. I put a small wager on Hop for fun, but no way did I predict he would have that much energy. I don't think anybody could have predicted he'd find that kind of stamina at 43 years old, especially since he tired late vs Calzaghe. That was a magical night.
That it was. You wouldn't have known which one was 27 and the other 43. I think Hopkins is a real ring master, capable of dis-arming guys, without them actually knowing about it. Watching the Calzaghe fight live, I felt Joe edged him, but later (and sober - cos I was both pissed and tired at 5am) Hopkins beat him.
