Jose Napoles, in his defense against Emile Griffith, was the master of the feint. Again, again and again he feinted Griffith with the right to get Emile to counter with HIS right, only to slip it and counter Griffith's counter with his own. This fight I would love to see, as I've only read a report of it, an excellent report however back in '69, when Jose was at his very best. He feinted Griffith all night, and won an easy 15 round decision. Napoles was a MASTER!!
Real good choice and it's one of my favorite fights to watch. It's a clinic Napoles put on but apparently Griffith was < 100% going into that bout. That kind of makes sense and Griffith was not a big guy on excuses, but would explain the total domination by Napoles. Even at 100% though, it's obvious he'd have his hands full with the guy. Funny side note---years ago on another forum when DLH was on his run @ 135 & 147, I did some fantasy matchups against Napoles @ 147 and Ortiz @ 135. Naturally, all the responses were Oscar via ko over both guys.
