Look at first I wasnt felling Pavilk and Cotto on PPV. Arum is talking about Anthony Perterson, Clottey vs Cintron, Cotto and Pavilk on the same card!!! I got to be real here guys, this sounds like 1 of the best cards I've seen in a long time. yeah Cotto might be fighting a cupcake in Jennings but you never know what that KO did to him. I've seen Rubio fight a couple of times and really isnt that bad. but when you can had Peterson (which will get a title shot this year) and Clottey-Cintron....I truley think this is the best card in years!! What do you guys think?
All I can say is... It's about time!!! These f---kin boxing promoters should take hint from the UFC... If they want to do PPV at $50 a pop... give us A NIGHT of boxing... not just one marquee fight, with a bunch of shite on the undercard. That last one with Pac/DLH was rock f---in bottom!!! Throw us a freaking bone here.
that's what it is though, a TALK.. Bob arum talks alot and I doubt this card gets made but if it does yes it would be one of the best cards in recent years. Peterson/ Diaz would be the best fight on the card.
I hope this is true. Promoters are one of the reasons boxing is in its decline. I like boxing more than MMA (although I like both) but even I have to admit that the UFC cards are much better than ordering a boxing PPV. You have your promoters who only care about putting their fighters on the cards rather than making fan-friendly bouts that will increase the sport's appeal. It sucks paying $50 to watch one, and if ur lucky, 2 good fights on a PPV card. UFC usually always have 3 or 4 entertaining bouts. I'm sure that the PPV sales will be very good if this card materializes...hopefully it will act as a domino effect in pushing other promoters to do the same.
I'll give you a hint what was the best fight card in years, and AFTER this peace of crap PPV is over, you can judge if it's surpassed it. http://www.boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=435157
i like 2 BIG fights on a card with 2 prospect matches. i like to see the up and comers, and the fights tend to be really entertaining. got that ppv?
Mandatory and a title shot. The ABC's are what the ABC's are......:-( People scream about unification and then complain about the politics required to keep the belts. I am in no way saying you don't have the right to your opinion on the card though. Just a comment on why it is being made. As pointed out, it could be interesting just to see how Cotto and Kelly come back.
The ABCs are a joke the ranking system doesnt make any sense and you gotta pay fees just to have the belts I think most hold on to them to make excuses why they dont face bigger challenges. Id like to see Cotto and Pavlik in with tougher oppostion and yes they can do better than this.
We need a unification of the ABC's. One time I checked the middle weight rankings and some had NO duplication in the top 10. How can that be?
