I guess Duran-Barkley. I haven’t seen Brown-Trice in a long time, although I remember it was great. I always loved Holyfield-Dokes
Out of the ones list it’s between Holyfield vs Qawi 1 and Duran vs Barkley. Other fights that should be mentioned: Jeff Harding vs Denis Andries 1 Bobby Czyz vs Charles Williams 1 Tony Lopez vs Rocky Lockridge 1 Tony Lopez vs John John Molína 1 Wilfredo Vazquez vs Antonio Avelar Wilfredo Vazquez vs Takuya Muguruma Frankie Duarte vs Bernardo Pingango Alberto Dávila vs Frankie Duarte 2
Great picks. Wilfredo Vazquez-Avelar was brilliant. Davila-Duarte II is a personal favourite, real shame Duarte didn´t get the decision over Pinango in another cracker.
I was at Holy-Qawi I. Most amazing fight I’ve ever seen live. Was in college and on like Monday or Tuesday my Pops calls me and says ‘Let’s go to Atlanta this weekend and watch Holyfield fight for the title.’ Didn’t take me long to say yes, haha. He got us flights on the same plane and a hotel for a couple nights and fight tix. We were actually talking about this fight just last month and what a thrill it was to be there.
Holyfield vs Qawi #1 is my choice. Great pace and for 15rds. Also a young Holyfield learned from this fight, and simply annihilated Qawi the second time he faced him. Leaving no doubt who was the better fighter. But wow , looking at your list, it made me realize how many great fights the 80's had. Only one of the fights on your list would've made my top ten of that decade.
