Definitely Leonard-Duran I IMO. Then Hagler-Hearns, and then Leonard-Hearns II. Dunno why, but I've always preferred watching their rematch to their first first fight. I do enjoy basically all of their fight, although I've never seen the third Leonard-Duran fight. I think my favourite (not what I think is the best) is Duran-Hagler. Just watching Duran execute such a wonderful, high-level strategy with his lead hand and bamboozle one of the best MWs ever with it so entertaining for me. One of my favourite performances and really the selling point for me (along with the Leonard victory) that Duran is the best fighter ever.
Good post mate. I probably did overlook Duran Hagler. I just love that version of Tommy at 147 and look at the current crop of prima donnas who won’t fight each other and just makes me fed up!
Duran - Leonard 1. The buildup and anticipation were at a high level, and the fight delivered. Close 2nd Hagler - Hearns. Also solid buildup and excitement for the best 3 rd fight in boxing history.
Honestly....Leonard vs Hagler ...it’s a really good fight if you just sit back and watch it ( and not be a fanboy )
Leonar-Hagler for the event, the nigh on impossible task for Leonard and him actually pulling it off.
My favorite fight of the FAB 5 is 1.Leonard vs Hearns 1 2.Duran vs Leonard 1 3. Leonard vs Benitez 4.Hearns vs Benitez 5. Hagler vs Leonard 6.Benitez vs Duran 7.Hagler vs Hearns 8. Hearns vs Duran 9. Leonard vs Duran 2 The exclusion of Benitez continues to puzzle me.
1. Leonard vs Hearns 1 2. Duran vs Leonard 1 3. Haggler vs Hearns 4. Duran vs Haggler 5. Leonard vs Hearns 2 6. Haggler vs Leonard 7. Leonard vs Duran 2 8. Duran vs Hearns 9. Leonard vs Duran 3
Leonard-Hearns I takes the cake for me. It was like a five-act play in the way it played out with the drama and momentum shifts along with the strategic adjustments.
In chronological order - Duran-Leonard I Leonard-Hearns I Hagler-Hearns The others were pretty damn good too. With the exception of Leonard-Duran III. Even the second fight between Ray and Roberto was quite good up until "No mas" in the eighth. Leonard-Hearns II is worth mentioning too. Almost as good as their first. Two veterans producing one last great performance.
