Leonard-Hearns I. The 90 seconds of competitive action in Hagler-Hearns is over rated as a fight IMHO.
Leonard-Hearns I Duran-Leonard I Leonard-Hearns II If we can include Benitez then I'd have Leonard-Benitez & Hearns-Benitez as #2 & #3
In order.... 1. Leonard vs Hearns 1 2. Leonard vs Duran 1 3. Hagler vs Hearns Leonard vs Duran 3 was easily the worst. It wasn't a fight really. You could argue Hearns vs Duran wasn't a fight either :hey
Agreed with this list. Thought people would go with Montreal more. Is this gonna be one of those things where there's already a consensus on it and I look like a tit for making the thread? Good shout on El Radar too. I considered adding him in.
Leonard vs Hearns 1 is my favourite fight. Well, everything apart from the end of the 13th round onwards anyway. In terms of quality, historical significance etc it had the lot, plus we didn't have to wait until they used walking sticks for it to happen, unlike so many other potentially historically significant fights. Not just on about Floyd and Pac here, Lewis vs Holyfield ticks this box too, albeit for differing reasons.
Duran Leonard 1 for me Kimballs great quote - "The night the boy became a man, and the man became a legend"
I'm a massive Duran fan, but Leonard-Hearns is one of the ATG fights & has a bit of everything. Le face-a-face historique was a bit of an ass kicking tbh & didnt have the same drama
Exactly this. I still watch it hoping Tommy pulls through. Really liked their 2nd fight too, except the result obviously but we all know who won.
