Wouldnt disagree with that opinion, I think to solidify this is to beat GSP and there would be no doubt that he is the best P4P fighter. GSP is another choice not by just beating the best fighters but the way he beats them and I struggle to choose between the 2, the only way would be for them to have a rematch.
I like BJ, he's definitely one of the best in the game. But in my mind GSP and Anderson Silva are just on another level right now.
i would agree with silva but not gsp, he got beat by serra and had a hard time when he fought bj (until bj gassed), if he was better than bj even though he is a natural 170 fighter instead of 155 he would have beaten him alot easier.
BJ`s standup is light years ahead of Aoki`s. But in a pure grapplng match this is a sure fire 50/50. Both these men are the best Jujitsu practioners in the world at lightweight and both have incredible dexterity. Would certainly be great to watch.
Honestly, at this stage if you're doing all the UFC weights, I'd throw Lyoto in there. I know he's not champ or anything, but I really don't see who beats him. Unless Shogun gets his moxy back.
Wouldn't argue with that, he's the MMA Mayweather for me. Not always exciting, fights to win rather than for the fans, but man, the guy knows how to win. Strategy wise he's one of the best guys I've ever seen, has the perfect gameplan for every opponent.
he hasn't fought any of the top guys yet though, hard to be te best when you have only foguht guys on the borders of the top 10.
His last 3 opponents are quite impressive. 2 being PRIDE standouts. Add Micheal McDonald, Rich Franklin, and Stephan Bonnar to that list and you have quite an impressive resume for 13 or so fights.
it depends on how you look at it, he has been fighting for years and has never fought a top 205 pound fighter, that doesn't make him the best fighter in the world.
