Bunch of bull**** if you ask me. Kelly Pavlik beat two top middleweights and the middleweight champion all in one year. And he doesn't get it?

WTF must a man do to get fighter of the year? Robbery if you ask me.

Pavlik beat two bums then beat Taylor after being out on his feet in the second.

    Zertuche is a bum..Miranda is a bum.

    Taylor was great win.

Cotto beat a 36 year old Mosley and Judah who was coming off two straight losses and a 1 year layoff.

Floyd beat ODH at 154......with every advantage in Oscars favor.

Then beat the MAN at 140......at his own game.

Floyd was also in the two biggest fights of the year.

    Floyd....and its not even close.

So are you saying this site has more credibility than Ring Magazine and ESPN?

No I am saying that they love Floyd and they were obective enough to recognize Miguel as fighter of the year, unlike all of you Floyd fans on here.

They seemed to have based their selections on merit not media hype. That's all, so what if they were the two biggest fights of the year, he did not beat better fighters in 2007 than Miguel Cotto did, period.

    1. Mayweather, unquestionably.
    2. Pavlik: in any other year but this one he'd be number 1
    3. Cotto? Barely eeked a win from an over-the-hill Mosley (many say it was a draw), and beat Judah (who doesn't beat Judah?). Not impressed.

shouldnt call fighters bums, none of them are bums, if they have the heart to put there ass on the line and step in a ring. Jus call them less skilled fighters or something.

So now you're implying that ESPN and Ring Magazine did not base their selections on merit, but instead media hype. To me, this suggests that you believe boxing talk to be more credible than ESPN and Ring Magazine. Am I incorrect in this assumption?

Its best "fighter" . . . not best "runner".

    1. Cotto
    2. Pavlik

Cotto beat Urkal. Who is Urkal?!?!?

Cotto beat Judah. Judah had not won in two years, TWO years.

Cotto beat Mosley. Cotto struggled with an old Shane Mosley (36 year olds btw)

Pavlik > Mayweather by a tad.

I dont even see how Cotto is in the picture.
