Best Fighter of '07: 1.Miguel Cotto; 2.Floyd Mayweather; 3.Kelly Pavlik

I hear you.....and I feel what your saying. I don't support his choices all the time but then again I'm not the one fighting in the ring. If PBF can manipulate boxing fans, media and well known organizations into co-signing his #1 status at WW then more power to him. Obviously we all have eyes and can see the skill set this man possesses; he has accomplished much and fought many all while staying undefeated in the process. I can't argue his seat amoungst the other champs but I can argue his status at WW....Cotto's win over Mosely should be worth more than any win PBF has at WW and that's the simple truth no one can deny that and if they do then so be it.....it has no legitimacy in my book. While I still lean towards PBF in a battle vs Cotto I will support Cotto and I will wish PBF good health as well since he has been one of favorite fighters in recent history. Strange that I'm a fan of both....but it is what it is.:yep ....though I do have a soft spot for Cotto being that we share the same culture.

 

It just means Cotto knows two languages and knows where the money is at.....so he has one up on Floyd, and two up on Floyds pops and Uncle Roger as he can speak both English and Spanish while Floyds relatives lack the ability to speak English and maybe a little spanish.

For excitement, I pick Pavlik. Three dramatic KO's. For most talented fighter, Mayweather. I dont include Cotto as even the third best fighter of the year.

 

Pavlik is the best this year i think. Then Mayweather.

Lance, did you say, Floyd fighting Hatton was fine? But he should of fought someone else or you wanted him to fight Hatton?

 

I say Pavlik.
Mayweather is close, victory over Hatton is good but Hatton was highly overrated.
Cotto just beat a washed up Judah and an old Mosely.

 

Cotto deserves to be fighter of the year. no one fought the level of competition he faced.

Pavlik fought Zertuche who is not even in the top 10 maybe top 20...
Miranda who was way overrated and i dont know where he was ranked maybe top 3
Taylor who was the champ. Only credible opponent he fought.

Mayweather didnt even fight anyone in his weight class so when people say he is the best WW its hard to agree when he hasnt faced a WW this year.

ITs clear Cotto is the Fighter of the year.
