I always thought Tommy Hearns was one win against Marvin or Leonard from being one of the best ever. I mean he beat Cuevas,Benitez and Hill for world titles and defended against Duran. Great resume, but his losses against Ray and Marvin in superfights on the big stage really hurt him. Tommy was fortunate he lived in an era when he got the chance to fight Leonard,Duran,Benitez and Hagler. Although if Floyd fought in that era, I doubt he would have fought them all.

If Floyd fights six ranked guys over the course of this Showtime deal, that would give him only three fewer wins than Willie Pep against Top 10 opposition. People whine when he fights like the #2 or #3 guy, though.
