It isn't bad. People let all that five title nonsense get in the way of what was a really impressive win and perfomance.

    you call this cherrypicking :

fighting Wilfred Benitez who was {38 - 0 - 1} in only your 26th fight and in your first world title shot

fighting Roberto Duran a all time great and who was {72 - 1} at the time, for only your 28th fight and in only your 2nd defence of the title

then fighting a Top 3 all time great welterweight in {32 - 0} Tommy Hearns who was destroying everyone at the time and was considered the Pd 4 Pd number 1 by ring magzine at the time.

and in 3 year time span is incrediable.

that to me is one of the most impressive lists of opponents in boxing history.

Sugar Ray Leonard was the real deal.

I don't like Leonard like I do other fighters. But I tend to face the facts on how great he was as a fighter.

I had a Joe Frazier avatar as well. And trust me, I hate Joe Frazier as a fighter. And I don't always carry his picture around. I very seldom have a Leonard avatar. Recently, yes.

Thats what you really can't grasp. Why people personally dislike a fighter but can give credit where it's due.

Pipino Cuevas who was WBA champion (175 - 1980) and had defended the title 10 times with 9 by ko, until Tommy destroyed him in 2 Rds

Tommy made 4 defense 3 by ko until Leonard stopped him in one of the all time classic fights.

As John Thomas said "If it's Sugar Ray, there is always a way".

You're just talking one guy. It was Cuevas who made the defenses, not Tommy.

Who's everyone? You cant just be talking about one guy. Name names for me. Anyone I might recognize?
