I will make this simple for you, Jack. I don't care about your VH1 BEST OF 90S BULL****. ANSWER THIS: Holyfield HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE REIGN 1996-1999 -Byrd top 10 1997, 1998, (3 months)1999 Lewis' HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE REIGN 1999-2004 -Byrd in top 10 (3 months)1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 WEAK ERAS, YES OR NO?
I'll go with Peak Byrd in 2000 as Wlad's best win. Byrd was the WBO beltholder, super skillful, elusive & very fast at his best, had a record of 31-1 & was a future IBF beltholder. Peak Byrd beats Wlad's other top opponents H2H imo.
Well, we know who Jack thinks is better than Chris Byrd in his opinion. But we'll never know if 1996-2004 was a weak era in his humble opinion despite his bold original statement that Byrd in the top 10=bad era. THESE ARE THE DAMN YEARS, BYRD WAS ACTUALLY TOP 10!!! YET HE CAN'T SAY FOR SURE IF THIS WAS A BAD ERA! atsch REALLY JACK, DID YOU THINK BYRD WAS ONLY RANKED UNDER WLAD'S ERA!?!
It was quite a good era, & Byrd was a top contender & beltholder, who looked impressive in his fights.
Even though I disagree, I wouldn't have a problem if Jack just said that in his opinion, Lewis and Holyfield were Champions in a weak era. But this pathetic, I just got ducked big time. :-( Now I know how Chris Byrd feels.
Looking at the years Byrd was Ring Mag Ranked, it annoys me that Lewis chose to lose his IBF belt rather than face mandatory Byrd. I reckon Byrd was a better title challenger than Grant, Botha, Tua (Byrd proved this against a fitter Tua), Rahman & rotting Zombie Tyson. :deal
I think Haye is the best. He has the speed, power, and size. He also showed some great head movement and a good jab against Wlad. I'm not big on Byrd because of his lack of punch.
What use is a punch if you are a tentative guy who throws about 20 punches per round while running away? :huh Peak Haye was good, but he loses a decision to Peak Byrd.
either Byrd or Calvin Brock. Calvin Brock gave Wlad a good amount of problems and Manny Steward hissy fits until that fight ended. Brock was a real underrated guy. Alot of people forget his loss against Eddie Chambers was real close as well. Too bad about his eye injury and botched surgery.
