Best fighter you`ve ever seen in their prime ?

There's absolutely no way I could narrow it down to one. There are simply too many fighters who've impressed me in too many different ways, and I'm constantly learning about more.

Ali wouldn't be in the top 20 probably, though. I'm just nowhere near as impressed with his all around skill-set as I am with a lot of other fighters.

Napoles, duran, Chavez, Arguello, Whittaker, Gomez, Ray leonard, Sanchez, Hagler

also in the 2 10 minute clips of Pep in his prime against Walton and Cam i am very impressed

 

Yes GP, Naples and Duran in their primes are something else. All top level elites at their best, even if some greatness wise stack up better than others

 

Duran from '78-'80, particularly in DeJesus III, Palomino, and Leonard I. Those were his absolute peak performances.

 

How about Monzon treating Nino Benven, like a rag-doll?

 

Probably Ali or Leonard. Whitaker and Jones comes closely behind. What I'm missing from Jones is a real showing of guts and bravery. Robinson, when slightly past his prime, against LaMotta ain't bad either. Tyson is around there somewhere as well.

 

In the end, effectiveness is the only thing that matters.

 

Impressive list...I would substitute Tyson for Ali and give it to Spinks over Foster...Hagler and Duran would be my two top choices from what I saw whilst growing up and good to see Carlos Monzon on your list.

Willie Pep in his prime would have been poetry in motion, but the crash in the middle of his career shortened his prime,even though he boxed on long afterwards.Henry Armstrong from what I have read would have been awesome.
