Emile Griffith only had 1 or 2 fights officially as Champion of the Jr. MW Division. Most fans don't even know he was a Jr. MW "Champ". Kinda like Barney Ross being a 3 Division Champ with his acquisition of the Jr. Welterweight championship.

My list is incomplete. Need to think more about 115 and 140. Not very knowledgeable in those divisions.

    115 ?

    122 Gomez probably

    130 Chavez

    140 ?

    154 McCallum

    168 Jones jr

    Cruiser Holyfield

Are we biased towards the '80s or were the '80s just that good?

122 belongs to Wilfredo Gomez, to state the obvious.

They were that good, especially with some late 70's cutting in. Incredible era.

A lot of these in between divisions really took off around the time too i guess.

    True

We were lucky to be around during that era.

Maybe, OP should have added 108 to his list.

    I'd pick Jung Koo Chang.

You could also add 105 lbs, although I never thought 105 was a necessary division. Fighers were getting bigger, not smaller. I think it was added in the late '80s.

Ricardo Lopez basically dominated at 105 lbs, so he would get the call as best in that division.

Of all the great lists on this thread, thanks lads, the 2 matchups I would be most intrigued by are Gomez Morales at 122, and Chavez Pryor at 140.
