why are people hating on sturm he has one of the most impressive left jabs in the world and no way did macklin bash him up for 12 rounds.

I scored it 9-3 for Macklin and thought it was decisive. I believe there was only one other round where I acknowledged that someone could give it to Sturm. So, to me, at best for Sturm he won 4 rounds.

But yeah, he still has a good jab... Maybe it wouldn't look so good if he weren't fighting Ronald Hearns, Giovanni Lorenzo, or Martin Murray.

Sturm did land the cleaner shots and would have stopped Mackling had fight went 1-2 rounds more(sure it does not matter. just saying Sturms punches had the most affect).

If they fought again Sturm would beat him Close but clearly. Sturm did figure Macklin out it just took horrible long but eventually started to pick Macklin apart with some nice shots.

And Brandon Rios a better fighter than Miguel Cotto or even Tim Bradley your having a laugh

    What?!?

First, last year was his coming out party.

And second, you imply he's fighting small guys.

-Acosta was Ring #1 LW only behind JMM, and the WBA champ.

-Antillon had just come off of a razor close war with Soto, and he too was ranked in the middle of the Ring LW rankings. He'd been at the weight his whole career.

-Murray was ranked in the bottom end of the top 10. He was the longtime British and European LW champ. Def a LW.

    ---

I agree he is not close to P4P top 10, but come on, give better reasons or just don't at all...

I disagree that his shots were the most effective. Macklin's shots dictated exactly when and where Sturm was going to back up to. Did each one of Sturms' landed blows perhaps do slightly more than each of Macklin's? Sure. But when Sturm gets outlanded 3.5:2, that doesn't matter at all.

I do agree that Sturm came on really strong in the final two rounds. I think it was the 12th that he actually rocked Macklin.

Having said that, scoring is a round by round basis, and Macklin handled him with relative ease.

Man I got to disagree. There are like tons of people saying Macklin won and another half saying Sturm Won, so I think it is fair to say it was even Fight and could have go either way.
