    Best fighters who excelled at smothering a powerful opponent's offense?

    Bonecrusher Smith knew how to spoil hard punchers work , by putting a cage across his face whenever they mounted any offense.. He resorted to holding a lot againsy Tyson and made it blatantly obvious that he wanted no part of Mikes onslaughts.. Holmes also had a great knack of doing similar stuff, he knew how to nullify your positive work , and also knew how to sustain attacks of his own whilst doing it...

    Winky Wright is an interesting example because of his method: rather than try to either stay out of range or get too close against big punchers, he sought to get them on the back foot where they had no leverage. I have rarely seen an elite p4p boxer look so utterly ineffectual as Tito looked against Winky. Of course, you need an outrageously good defence and chin to pull this off without being KO'd.

    People tend to forget Ali a bit on ESB but you guys who voted Ali are right. He went up against howitzers and came out exactly as he stated;
    "I'm pretty!"
    "Hold on, you're not that pretty."
    "I'm a baaad man."

    Was just watching the Liston fight earlier. :good
