    Tarver fought Roy in the amatuers when he was 14. I'd venture a guess that was not his first fight.

    Rocky Marciano started boxing at 24 or 25 after a tryout for a farm team as a catcher for a Major league team, but didnt make the cut. He lacked the arm strength! ironic isnt it didnt have a canon for an arm as a catcher and yet could punch like hell.

    Mundine transferred from Rugby League to boxing at 25. He didn't have an amateur career before he played League, but he would have had some experience in the gym i believe with his dad being a notable boxer.
