Best fights of the 80s boxing?

What’s great about the 80s is you can pick a division and pretty quickly pull together a list of top-notch fights from the era.

Arguably, lightweight had the best, most competitive fights as there was no long-reigning dominant champion like there had been in the 1970s (with Duran) and 1960s (with Carlos Ortiz).

You still had some impressive champions but the reigns of the very best were generally more brief (e.g. Arguello and Chavez) and there were lots of talented fighters on a pretty similar level (Mancini, Rosario, Ramirez, etc) - that made for some top notch matchups and fights.

 

Don't think McCallum-Jackson has been mentioned yet. Lovely fight.
