Baranchyk-Zepeda was insane. This next one could be bias at work, but watching Chocolatito the last five years is like watching history unfold.
I personally haven’t seen a better fight than Juan Estrada v Carlos Cuadras 2. The first fight was excellent, but the rematch was a war!
The cream in that division is just a treat to watch. You even have the likes of Ioka and Nietes who haven't yet had a look into what I consider a modern Fab Four.
Absolutely. We often talk about golden eras and bemoan the state of modern boxing (and justifiably so) but the last few years in that division have been the best in its history. It’s a golden era NOW and most people don’t even know. I mean, I didn’t really pay attention to it either until last year and then found out what I’d been missing!
Errol Spence vs Shawn Porter Naoya Inoue vs Nonito Donaire Canelo vs GGG l & ll Chocolatito Fights (Estrada, Rungvisai, Cuadras etc) Gabriel Rosado vs Jaime Munguia Guillermo Rigodeaux vs Julio Ceja (Very underrated)
Canelo v GGG 1 was boring, Canelo just backed off allowing GGG to win and GGG couldn`t throw any body shots because of how high Canelo`s trunks were.
@Jel if you haven't seen it yet, Ancajas' recent loss to Martinez was an unbelievable fight. Arguably fight of the year, although Conlan-Wood has probably outshined it. It's seriously good, though. Defo worth the watch. The entire division is so far ahead of the rest of boxing it's not even fair.
#10. Apochi vs Glanton #09. Prograis vs Taylor #08. Canelo vs GGG II #07. Yada vs Beppu #06. Baranchyk vs Zepeda #05. Szymanski vs Talarek #04. SSR vs Chocolatito I #03. Estrada vs Cuadras II #02. Inoue vs Donaire I #01. Estrada vs Chocolatito II
I wasn`t attacking you, and their rematch was far more exciting but nobody liked Canelo v GGG 1 at the time of the fight and were dissappointed.
I know they might be beyond 2017, but if you want to watch literally any fight in recent years (2010-now). Than just watch any Chocolatito fights. Rungvisai 1 & 2 Cuadras 1 & 2 Estrada 1 & 2 Viloria Yafai Arroyo Yaegashi Rocky Fuentes Moises Fuentes I actually rank Chocolatito the greatest crowd pleaser today. Even tho he isn't retired yet, I might rank him in my Top 10 list of greatest crowd pleasers of all time, which I was working on in the last two months.
