I could be wrong, but the 1st Best Film might be Austrailian for clarity & definite 'seeing is believing' that the fighters Skills & Prowess is very evidently visable.

1938 Footage of Ron Richards, Fred Henneberry, Ambrose Palmer and Ageless Archie Moore.

earlier footage of Freddie Steele, Apostili, Lesnevich is also good just not as clear as the Auzzie footage, likewise of the Murderers' Row stuff, Burley, Marshall, Jack Chase. and of course the same with Walker and the Scotsman Tommy Milligan, also pretty clear but again not like the Auzzie footage.

anyway, as I always say, "when the Footage/Film is Right, so Too Are the Fighters, difference is, in the past they were doing it 'every' month or so and often even every other week!"

You think the Minter fight is up there as well for Hagler?

With Hagler, it’s tough because there aren’t many defenses at middleweight where he didn’t look anything less than awesome: Duran, Roldan, Leonard… those are the only ones that spring to mind as being less than punch perfect. His win over Hearns was obviously amazing but wasn’t really reflective of his usual style so I’d say Minter, Hamsho and Sibson as the top 3 with all the other defenses barely a notch below those immaculate performances.

I haven’t seen the Obel fights in many years. I usually go with either Hamsho 1 or Sibson for Hagler’s peak performance

I was expecting a - "Greb looked amazing on the footage I have of his bout with Walker" - type quip, would have been posted by now.

I'm surprised to see you list the Griffith rematch as Monzon's best performance. I thought Monzon looked a bit lethargic and slower in that match compared to their first encounter personally and thought Griffith gave a much better account the second time around. I'm curious to know why you think this is Monzon's best performance if you don't mind.

I’d go with Sibson as Marvin’s best performance.

Tough, rugged guy and Marvin just chewed him up and spit him out.

Monzon’s best might still be his title win over Benvenuti.

But Robinson’s has to be his title win over LaMotta - might be the best performance of any middleweight on film.

I'm not tied to it really, I just remembered that in one of the Griffith fights, Monzon looked excellent. It might not have even been the rematch, they're both so boring I haven't revisited them in years.

Monzon was Nino 1 by far

Hagler had many ... Minter was absolutely terrifying . Sibson was surgically brutal. Hearns was classic.
