I think El Nene Sanchez was too. But Liston might be the only one in linear fights.

Wilder vs Breazale was also something to behold.

Tyson/Spinks: I don't think anything will ever change that.

Pernell Whitaker vs Juan Nazario was a pretty sweet first round KO in a title fight.

    Cardona-Avelar is the most devastating.

Nominating Louis vs Schmeling is nothing new, I know, but just a quick breakdown per my eyes to rationalise why - just the fight itself, nothing else.

1st round KOs often don’t have sufficient time to show the victor and his skills off completely, it’s simply the nature of the beast - and sometimes the opponent is simply caught when they’re cold, not sufficiently warmed up.

However, during the 2 mins 4 secs the second Louis- Schmeling fight lasted (2/3 of a round), I see Louis making “all the right moves”, nothing wasted, everything so acutely purposed. Max was ready to go, likely looking to the protracted strategy that won him the first fight, but the Bomber didn’t let him get out of the gates.

It was as comprehensive a display of skill, perfect executions, stunning power and absolute domination as you could wish/hope for during the limited time it played out. Just imo.

Tyson vs Spinks will always stand out to me. The way he made Spinks, an ATG LHW and good HW, look like a poodle being run down by a pitbull,,, Just never stops to amaze me. Tyson was a ****ing beast.
