If you mean any fighter who had an active career since 1998, (not counting comebacks and such), then my list is as so.

    1. RJJ
    2. Lopez
    3. Lewis
    4. Hopkins
    5. Mayweather

Since 98? Lopez was past his prime, and only had a few fights left after that.

Yes, but that is why I said if the fighter was still active at that point.

Basically, if the question says any fighter who was fighting from 1998-2008 can be on the list (as long as they were actually active and not making a comeback or something), I am taking into account the greatness of the fighter as a whole, just not how good they were from 1998 on.

In that case, there's a glaring omission. *Ahem*

Come to think of it, you leave out guys like Duran and Chavez as well if that's your criteria. That's why I don't do it that way, if there's a time period set, I'll usually count just what was accomplished during the period, rather than overall accomplishments, otherwise someone could count guys like Duran and Chavez.

I felt his fights in 1999 and 2001 were comeback attempts. If they aren't, then he goes to #1 and everyone else moves down a notch.

Remember, I said guys who weren't making comebacks, so I wouldn't count Duran. Chavez may or may not make my list either way. He is better overall than Mayweather, but not sure if he is greater than anyone else. He is a weird guy for me to rank.

I get you. My fault for mis-understanding. Disregard the bits about Chavez and Duran then.
