In the unlikely event that this happens, expect Braddock Baer II!

I don't see Braddock lasting long as champion, even if he avoided Louis. Probably a case of whoever got the shot first would win, which is why the powers that be were desperate for him not to fight Schmeling.

Baer - fix? Either way abysmal effort by Baer
Farr - Farr swore to his dying day he was robbed and many in attendance agree

Braddock's top 5 was very easy at spots 1 and 2, were everyone voted for Baer and Farr. Spot #3 was a close but John Henry Lewis edged Lasky. Spot #5 was the hardest to place. Mr. Ernest Bendy A.K.A. Dynamite Jackson claimed it.

    Braddocks's top 5 wins

    Baer 25 points
    Farr 20 points
    JH Lewis 14 points
    Lasky 11 points
    D. Jackson 3 points

Up next is a fighter who needs no introduction. He ended he musical game of chairs for the lineal title. Joe Louis. Spots 1-5 could be very competitive

    Who wants to lead off?

Well, this list needs huge time to re-evaluation. Louis resume is arguably the deepest in division history. He has more than 6 lineal champions on his record and I'm not even sure if all of these wins are his top ones.

    Louis

    1. Schmeling
    2. Walcott
    3. Baer
    4. Conn
    5. Pastor

So many options to choose from with Louis’s 5th slot for me, but I chose Pastor an excellent boxer of his era that had many good wins before and after his two Louis losses.

    The great Joe Louis

    1. Max Schmeling- Louis avenging his loss vs the clever hard hitting Schmeling in spectacular fashion. Schmeling is an all time top 20 HW imo and top 25 at worst. Great win

    2. Jersey Joe Walcott 2- Louis was past his prime and was being outboxed by the clever Walcott, but managed to land a terrific combination and win against another guy who is in the all time top 25.

    3. Max Baer- Louis's best filmed performance. Max was iron jawed with a big right hand. Louis never looked quicker handed than he did here, the triple left hook is a thing of beauty.

    4. Budy Baer 2- I know some people will disagree but Budy was a superheavyweight with serious ko power, and he likely would have held the title if it weren't for Louis.

    5. Billy Conn- I am a huge Conn fan but keep in mind that he was a light-heavyweight, and not a full fledged heavyweight.

At #5, you can make a case for Pastor, Farr, etc. but I went with Conn as he was such a beautiful boxer. Still, I can see a case for some others.

    Joe Louis. Top 5

#1 Schmeling 2. Winning it the way he did matters. KO 1
#2 Bear. Probably his best filmed performance. Very dominant
#3 Walcott 2. Though well behind he did score the KO.
#4 Conn 1. Down on points, and stunned, Louis sores a dramatic come from behind KO.
#5 Godoy 2. After a tough first fight, Louis dominated this one and stops a durable man.

Picking 3 out of 5 re-matches. Louis had a way of evening things up after suspect performances.

    My candidates in chronological order:

    Primo Carnera
    Max Baer
    Bob Pastor
    Jim Braddock
    Tommy Farr
    Max Schmeling
    Arturo Godoy II
    Billy Conn
    Lou Nova
    Buddy Baer II
    Jersey Joe Walcott
    Jimmy Bivins

Man, his resume is amazing. I didn't even include fights like Sharkey, Uzcudun, Retzlaff, Mann and Maurelio. How to pick inly 5 fights from that?
