Well, if it helps, Bivins was nearly gone, Braddock and Buddy Baer not that good anyway!
But you are correct, also Savold, Brion, Ramage, Ettore, Galento, Dorazio, Simon...his second 5 better than most!

His 3rd 5 is better than some first that we've done so far!

I would go that far by saying his #6-10 wins are better than most previous champions #1-5. I would say some of his #6-10 would rate as top 5 for others.

Louis certainly was active and had more their two wins than just about anyone we reviewed to this point He also had issues in tier 1, tier 2 opponents, and was either down or stunned too often by tier 3.

I might put Bob Pastor on my top 5 today, as he beat many of the top black fighters Louis did not fight.

Of your top 15, Louis KO'd 13 of them. The few he couldn't KO first time around got it in the rematch. The only misses were Farr and Bivins (the latter in one of his last comeback fights). Joe was just a one-off.

    1. Schmelling II - absolute destruction of an arguably top 30 HW
    2. M. Baer - best filmed performance. Triple left hooks, excellent radar, deceptively good feet, cracked a top chin.
    3. Walcott II - past prime KO whilst behind - shows his mentality and killer instinct
    4. Conn - another example of killer instinct and mentality as other lineal champions could well have resigned to being outboxed.
    5. Uzcudun - I could have gone for Godoy or Pastor, but the destructive power that Louis unleashed was too good for me to ignore.
    I'm certain on #s 1 - 4 - happy to have people disagree with my #5.

My HW ranking is based off of ring record, my assessment of their skillset and hypothetical H2H potency.

I don't mind people disagreeing, but I would really like to see your top 15 and which boxers you are dismissing for Schmelling.
