The top three will be locked in, but beyond that we might see some diversity of opinion.

No doubt everybody will have Liston, Frazier, and Foreman, as the top three, in some sort of order.

    Who will be number four?

    Patterson, Quarry, Ellis, Norton perhaps?

You can do the top 5-10 spots and they’ll still be better then most list.

Liston's top 5 had plenty of voters. All 9 voters picked Patterson #1. There was a very close battle for 2nd place, Machen edged Folley.

    Liston's top 5 wins:

    Patterson - 45 points
    Machen -31 points
    Folley -29 points
    Williams - 20 points
    Valdes -7 points

On we go to boxing's biggest icon, Ali. In my opinion has the greatest resume of wins in heavyweight history, Sorting them out will be difficult as some really good fighters won't make the cut. Voting starts now and ends Sunday night.

    Ali's top 5.

    1. Liston - Ali moved and boxed as well as any of his fights, shook up Liston, marked up Liston, and in his own words shook up the world.

    2. Foreman - While George's performance wasn't very good, Ali's strength and toughness shined.

    3. Frazier - The 3rd fight was a battle of guts and wills. Both men were done at the end of the 14th.

    4. Norton - While Ali barely won the second one ( A draw would have been fine ), he wasn't close in the 1st or 3rd.

    5. Lyle - Past his peak, Ali pulls out a come from behind stoppage which I though was a tad early.

Missing the cut. Quarry, Shavers, Patterson, Young ( Judging issues ). Bugner.

    Ali’s top five
    1) Foreman
    2) Liston
    3) Frazier
    4) Patterson
    5) Quarry
    Bottom five because it’s Ali
    6) Bonavena
    7)Norton
    8) Terrell
    9)Folley
    10) Shavers
Moore would be on the list but he was ancient When Ali beat him

    M. Ali

    1-----George Foreman
    2-----Sonny Liston
    3-----Joe Frazier (3rd)
    4-----Floyd Patterson
    5-----Oscar Bonavena

The first four I think are pretty obvious. Bonavena gets #5 because Ali is the only guy to stop him.

Missing the cut--Moore and Foster. Moore too old. Foster never good at heavy.
Ken Norton--I don't think Ali won their third fight. The 2nd could be #5, but I'm going with Bonavena.
Jimmy Young--an unimpressive performance at best, if you think Ali actually deserved the decision.
Earnie Shavers--could make an argument for surviving this big puncher when well past best.
Ron Lyle--an impressive rally to win.
Jerry Quarry--did much poorer than Lyle or Bonavena against the best, so doesn't make the cut.

Not this time. I prefer the voting starts after announced as its an easy starting point for me. Posting them again means I could accidentally count them twice. You're good.

Why most people pick Quarry over Patterson? Or even Bonavena?

I wouldn’t pick quarry over Patterson but I do have him over Bonavena and Norton. Mainly due to quality opponents beat.
