sergio martinez vs richard williamss and adrian stone , though at the time a relative unkown whod been kod by marg , u could see real class ... hard to top kovalev though.
The ol' man was a boxing nut and lost his **** when he went to see Sot Chitalada beat Magri. I was scheduled to go to Duke McKenzie's attempt to beat the Thai, until injury ruined that, I got to see Horace Notice fight the awful Aussie Dean Waters. I suppose number one for me was Hagler; but I also went to McGuigan/Pedroza and a shot Meldrick Taylor was on the Lewis/Ruddock undercard. I really wanted to watch Tommy too, but missed out on his Manchester fight.
On TV I remember Curry (Vs Jones) and Nelson (Vs Cowdell) looking awesome. Frank Tate looked the real deal beating Sibbo; and Henry Maske looked like a veteran on his debut!
He was a just little past his best when we first got to see him in person over here (Lloyd). But still, he was a special talent. There was the night the York Hall had an attendance bigger than the MEN, when Frankie Randall and Jose Luis Ramirez main evented in 85. Did anyone here really go?
