Does Evander Holyfield have any competition?

Power, speed, timing, angles. Terms that can be applied to any given fighters overall skill can be solely applied to Holyfield's head there are cases where his head alone caused more damage that Foreman or Marciano could produce all night. So no, there is none greater. There is not a head on the planet that matches that, of...EVAN FIELDS!

I think great headbutters, rabbit punchers, holders, low blow artists and elbowers need recognition. Many of them are masters of their chosen tactic.
There should be Hall of Fame sections set aside for them.
I might start some threads looking for nominations

Joe Frazier was very discrete, he butted only with the top of his head under the chin. It was not a real pull back forehead slam. He was warned against Ellis. John Conteh, for such a technician, knew how to follow through on a jab with the nut. Hagler too.

I think Europeans because of soccer know how to put a bit more top spin on a headbutt than their American cousins. In Glasgow it's known as a Glasgow kiss. One minute your talking to a guy, the next moment he's walking away and your nose is bleeding.

John Conteh is a good call. He used that head of his so well he should have worn a glove on it. He butted Chris Finnegan wide open.

On another occasion, when London was on the wrong end of what was regarded as a horrible decision against Johnny Prescott, a man climbed into the ring to commiserate with him. London thought he was having a pop, and nutted him. He was out cold.

Holyfields got to be in a league of his own, for a Christian he was one fine buttsman.
against Tyson, his counter to tysons left hook was to send the head in and it was brutally effective.
Though Tyson cant really complain, his elbow smash was as educated as his right hand.
Modern dirty *******s include mayweather, broner and Hopkins
Pacquiao also butted the sh1t out of barerra in their first fight

Mysterious Billy Smith deserves a mention, but the modern fighter aficionados will question his inclusion due to lack of film!

Holyfield, Galota, Jim Flynn and Toney Galento.

Galento once blamed a loss on his inability to headbutt his opponent.

Fireman Jim Flynn was a notorious head merchant. His famous fight with Jack Johnson is all the evidence we need to prove his love of the head smash. Leaping headbutts being his speciality in that one and the result of his disqualification.

Greb wasn't a natural heavy but he fought them. From what I've read on him it's well documented he was dirty as ****. His dirty rep is maybe a bit over the top though.

Realistically this title could probably be taken by a more obscure old timer back when boxers were rougher and refs were less strict. I don't have the knowledge to dig those guy's out.

Fritzie Zivic, Sandy Saddler, Battling Nelson and Mysterious Billy Smith would be some of the worst from any weight but that's for another thread.
