Imagine the boxers in their prime between the years 2003-2007, for example, Lewis will be judged by his performance against Vitali (2003) and Roy Jones Jr will be represented by his fight against Ruiz (2003). Wladimir might be in his prime right now 2007, and will not be the Wladimir who lost against Brewster (2004).

Who is the best heavyweight during the last five years? For example, how would the 2007 version of Wladimir fare against the 2003 version of Lewis?

2007 wlad may very well just bust lewis up if he keeps on the move and uses that piston like jab, lewis looked very slow and lumbering against vitali and would get exhausted looking for wlad.

lennox only chance is to try and turn it into a real scrap ala vitali, we still don't know for sure how wlad would react in such a fight.

If Lewis fought like he did against Vitali in 04 he would of probably knocked down Wlad at least 5 times forcing the ref to stop it around the 3rd round. The way Lewis fought that night was not his greatest but it would be the perfect way to beat Wlad, you need to fight him reckless and sloppy because your not going to out box him.

Its Wlad. Regardless of how good Lewis was (better than Wlad all time), but if we are talking last 5 years...its EASILY Wlad.

Even the worst version of Lewis, would be better than anyone else. Vitali would be next, the Wlad.

Lennox had just peaked and was on the way down when he faced Vitali. If we go back to his Rahman (2) or even his Tyson bouts, he 's the best recent heavywt. But even taking him at his Vitali fight, I would favour him over Wlad, the best of the current crop (pending the outcome of his brother's return bid.)

So of those you list, in the strict 5-yr timeframe, and considering head-to-head, I would rank them:

    Lewis
    Vitali
    Wlad

All the rest of your picks would be KO'd by any of these three.

I think Wlad, as he is now, would probably KO ANY version of Lennox Lewis.

    There, I said it!

    Wladimir Klitschko

He was better than Lewis was against Vitali, but not better than a prime Lewis.

Wladimir because of accomplishments and the toe-to-toe basis.

But Vitali was excellent in his fights against Lewis, Johnson, Sanders and Williams.

I think the version of lewis that fought tyson&rahman 2 would've smoked ANY heavy in history, and only the hardcore oldtimers
who won't come out of the timemachine would disagree.
