Can we all agree since both Klitschkos were fighting for the four main titles (2008 ) that's the best heavyweight title fight we've seen? This isn't a skill thing obviously but most competitive action fight? Keyword being "fight". I think this was a great score for ESPN and the division.

Maybe. I do admit I cant think of any major fights to beat it but I just wasn't very impressed with the skills they showed tonight. Was fun to watch tho and definitely helps espn out even though I hate teddy atlas

Oh, ur talking about Arreola Sitvere... I get it now :nut

I was telling my dad this same thing. "When's the last time you saw a heavyweight title fight this exciting?" I asked.

Watching those two brawl they way they did i realized why the heavyweights used to be the main attraction.

Oddly, the last competitive, exciting one that I can remember-the way I remember it at least-is the fight before Vitali took the title by beating his Peter. Peter VS Maskaev.

If it weren't so hard to swallow about the 'regular' title while Wlad had the real title I would've thought of that. It's a good shout. This getting the knockout brings home the drama more to me but Povetkin/Huck was still a great fight.

Do you count Povetkin/Huck since it's been mentioned?

Since 2008? Maybe. Unfortunately this is what happens when the champ is that much better than everybody else.

    Povetkin-Huck was a better fight

Perez-Abdusalamov was the best HW fight since Liakovich-Brewster imo

The poll is for 2008 + though and most of those fight where before that.

Perez-Abdusalamov was a great fight but I'm asking about title fights. They carry in an attention and prestige that is special and if it's boring, it's boring amplified and if it's dramatic it's usually drama amplified because of what's at stake. Like Perez/Abdusalamov without retrospect didn't have any more at stake than something like Jennings/Szpilka. It was a good match up of unbeaten prospects on paper and nothing more at the time.

Your thread title is very misleading. You are asking "Best heavyweight title fight" -- then you turn around and ask for "most competitive" where two equals meet, no matter how good or bad.
