With a couple of Fenech topics going the time is nice. I just came across this and not many if any would have seen it yet. The article gives a nice career overview with some insights and then of course we have the always fascinating insights into the subjects (of these great articles) opponents. Enjoy. http://www.ringtv.com/479284-best-faced-jeff-fenech/
One of the great disappointments of my life is that Fenech got cut that night against Zarate. Old or not Zarate looked cool in there and was still a dangerous master. I think it'd be Fenech's fight then and always but who knows we didn't get to see. You know you might say Zarate won that fight technically, I didn't see anything illegal and Jeff was the one who couldn't continue....
Nice to see the nod to Jerome Coffee (best jab), a little-remembered guy. Very skilled. I knew his manager, Stan Allen, a Nashville attorney who also managed Clint Jackson, Loren Ross and maybe a couple of other guys. Coffee was rated as high as No. 3 in the world at flyweight as an amateur. He faced Fenech at bantamweight and Jeff was way too strong for him but Jerome was a silky smooth fighter and a good guy from all I know.
