IMO, Prime Kessler outbox Prime Froch to a wide UD.

What say you cleaver guys and girls?

That's very, very hard to say. In my eyes, they're right about equal.

I agree. I think Kessler has better boxing fundamentals or at least better technique but Mikkel is just so stiff. Froch is better and more creative fighter.
Man watch their first fight last round, that is a fight.

Both are pretty fukin tough that is for sure.:good

    edit.
I had Froch winning first fight but just. I thought both came in to the fight little bit handicapped.

Froch was prime when Kessler beat him. Kessler was far from. A prime Kessler would have won a wider decision.

    Kessler..
The 04-08 Kessler was faster, superior technically and more powerful.. The stiff jab and the laser accurate right hand was a thing of beauty

Kessler in his prime had a good style to deal with Froch he was solid enough to be able to stand up to the bombs that Froch would be throwing and was sharp enough and had good enough technique and skill to outbox Froch.
The Kessler who fought Calzaghe was significantly better than todays Kessler.
    Prime - Kessler>Froch
    Today - Kessler<Froch

Froch might be doing a Joe and peaking late.. You never stop learning in whatever your buisness. Froch was brilliant the other night. Was brutal when he give it to Bute when he saw his chance and was patient while waiting for the moment to strike..

I agree. Forget about the win and look at what Froch does. I haven't seen him fight any better than vs Bute.

I dont get this "kessler wasnt prime when he fought froch" lark. He was prime vs calzaghe. Just got outboxed and never took a beating. Had a few gimme's then got outboxed again by ward. He got butted a bit but wasnt exactly beaten up. Ward doesnt beat up anyone. Just outfoxes them.

He was no worse a fighter than when he fought calzaghe. Just had two losses.

    Siaca WBA champ
    Beyer 3 time WBC champ
Sartison undefeated who became a WBA regular champ after Kessler beat him
Mundine who was a former SMW champ and became WBA SMW champ after Kessler beat him
    Lucas former WBC SMW champ
    Thobela former WBC SMW champ
    Andrade undefeated

Kessler tried his arm against the best SMW ever who even now is mentioned regularly on the forums, so thats not no names

I dont think Froch is prime now either, but not as faded as Kessler.
I think Froch won his first world title when he was a bit passed his best
