Iv seen a lot of people discuss this topic on various forums and its begun to confuse me. The two that I see most often are Larry Holmes and Sonny Liston but are there any that I don’t know about?

give me your take and feel free to argue it out with other people.

IMO and I've said it here for yrs and yrs that Holmes had the best jab bar none in any weight class period

There's tons of guys with really slick and meaningful jabs in lower divisions, John Conteh, Carlos Monzon, Marvin Hagler, the list goes on.
If I had to choose, it'd be Holmes, but I'm biased for The Big Black Cloud.

Harold Johnson. He gave you no space behind his jab.. it was aligned with his shoulder and all.
It is fun to look at Lewis, Liston and Holmes and their jabs, but these guys had such a long reach that I don´t think they actually have the best jabs...

Ike Quartey had a great one but again, it is not the best, it was the fastest !

    No apparent order:

    Ali
    Louis
    Liston
    Holmes
    Buchanan

Joey Maxim if we're talking jab, Liston or Foreman if we're talking power jab.

Not the very best ever, but Virgil Hill deserves some mention here.

I always cite Hagler with respect to power jabs. Of course if we're specifying southpaw power jabs, Marv has no peer.

Also, Holmes varied over his career with his jab, but for a display of how powerful his jab could be, watch how he pounds Ocasio into the dirt with it.
